Monday, April 2, 2007 -- Presidential

Good Morning,

I apologize for not posting in a while, but I've had personal issues with my grandmother's health and so forth. I'm also trying to finish up my Bachelor's Degree.

In the Presidential Race for 2008:

The first quarter of 2007 ended on Saturday, March 31, 2007 and here are the Democratic fundraising amounts:

Hillary Clinton -- $36 million (this includes $11 million rolled over from her 2006 Senate Re-election campaign)
Barack Obama -- Not reported yet, but believed to be around $20 million
John Edwards -- $14 million
Bill Richardson -- $6 million
Chris Dodd -- $4 million
Joe Biden -- $3 million

The Republican amounts haven't been released, yet.

Former Republican Governor Jim Gilmore of Virginia is reportedly about ready to jump from exploratory committee to full campaign in his race for the Republican nomination. He believes he can be competitive by year's end.

Former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin will announce the start of his campaign for President on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.

Former Republican Senator and Actor Fred Thompson of Tennessee is still considering a run and has already surpassed Mitt Romney for third place in the early Iowa polls.

Matthew Dowd, President Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaign strategist, is now one of Bush's harshest critics and now favors a withdrawal of troops from Iraq and calls Bush's Administration "intentionally divisive".

That is all the news for this Monday. Coming up next Monday, April 9, 2007 will be an updated list of the Presidential Candidates for 2008 both Republican and Democrat. Stay Tuned
